Guided tour Yper Museum

On the tour in Yper Museum, you will walk through eleven centuries of Ypres. The birth of a city, trade, social unrest, the outbreak of the plague and... mysterious insignia: discover what life was like in a medieval city. A crazy film tells the story of the Vauban fortifications and the origins of Belgium. On the second floor, you will learn about social differences and lace-making, women's rights and painting, and how photography has captured the city of Ypres forever.

Guided tour focusing on the Middle Ages

The emergence of a city, the city walls with watchtowers, superstition in all its facets, social unrest and the outbreak of the plague. A guided tour focusing on medieval history is highly recommended! The guide brings all these themes to life through striking medieval objects from the museum's rich collection. As the icing on the cake, the pupils dive into the insignia cabinet, where they learn how people lived in the Middle Ages through a search task.
